How the calculator works
This calculator uses real pharmacy pricing data to estimate your annual prescription costs. Prices are updated regularly from sources like GoodRx and represent typical retail cash prices for a 30-day supply.
Add your medications
Search for each prescription you take by name. We have pricing data for 120+ common Medicare medications including statins, blood pressure drugs, diabetes medications, and more.
Set refill frequency
For each medication, indicate how often you refill it. Most maintenance medications are refilled monthly (12 times per year), but some may be less frequent.
Compare and save
See your estimated annual costs at each pharmacy. The same medications can vary by hundreds of dollars per year depending on where you fill them.
These are estimated retail cash prices. Your actual costs may vary based on your location, insurance coverage, and pharmacy discounts.
How Medicare Part D affects your costs
Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage that can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs. However, Part D plans have their own costs and coverage rules to understand.
| Cost type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Monthly premium | What you pay each month for Part D coverage, typically $15-$100+ |
| Annual deductible | Amount you pay before coverage kicks in (max $590 in 2026) |
| Copays/coinsurance | Your share of drug costs after deductible, varies by drug tier |
| Coverage gap | Higher costs after you and your plan spend $5,660 combined |
| Catastrophic coverage | Lower costs after $8,000 in out-of-pocket spending |
The average Part D cost shown in this calculator represents typical out-of-pocket costs for Part D enrollees, but your actual costs depend on your specific plan's formulary and tier structure.
