Hospital insurance that covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health care.
Medicare Part A is the hospital insurance component of Original Medicare. It covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care (following a qualifying hospital stay), hospice care, and some home health services. Most people qualify for premium-free Part A based on their work history or their spouse's work history.
