Medicare Supplement Insurance policies sold by private companies to help pay for costs Original Medicare doesn't cover.
Medigap (Medicare Supplement Insurance) policies help fill the "gaps" in Original Medicare coverage, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Plans are standardized and labeled with letters (A through N). During your Medigap Open Enrollment Period — the 6 months after you turn 65 and enroll in Part B — insurers cannot deny you coverage or charge more based on health conditions.
